From CPR and preparedness classes to disaster response, American Red Cross, Sonoma & Mendocino Counties is active year-round.

Disaster Services : Our volunteers are available to respond to local and national disasters 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This department also offers numerous free classes for current and prospective volunteers who want to be members of our Disaster Action Teams. All of our disaster response services and disaster classes are always free of charge.

Health & Safety : We offer more than 50 different classes such as CPR, First Aid, Preventing Disease Transmission, Babysitter’s Training and Water Safety. These classes, offered at reasonable rates, are available to the community at locations throughout Sonoma County, in Ukiah and on the Mendocino coast. Red Cross instructors can also teach at your business or organization at a time of your choosing. Contact Allen James at 707-577-7616 or ajames[at]arcsm.org for more information.

Nursing : Our many nursing and care giving courses assist people in entering the health care field, keeping their certification current, and progressing in their careers. The new Nursing English course is a great way for people to upgrade their English skills so they can take the Certified Nurse Assistant Training.

Service to the Armed Forces : Our volunteers work to notify service members who have family emergencies and, where possible, enable the servicemembers to be with their families.  Our SAF volunteers also provide military families with many important social services

Youth Services: We encourage young people to volunteer at the Red Cross. They learn valuable skills, have fun, and join a community of people who live the values of compassion and service. To volunteer, individuals should contact Maggie O'Brien, mobrien[at]arcsm.org or (707) 577-7612.

Mendocino County : In 2007, we officially changed our name to American Red Cross, Sonoma & Mendocino Counties, acknowledging our expanded activities in Mendocino. We offer disaster response, volunteer opportunities, and health and safety training both inland and on the coast. Mendocino activities are included throughout the web site, and a Mendocino County page  makes it easy to find them all in one place.
