IThanks to your donations, our local Red Cross sets-up shelters, provides emotional support to those affected by disaster, and keeps our local residents safe and sound.

In 2009 your donor dollars made a difference in thousands of lives:

• 20,287 residents of two counties reached through our programs and services.
• 14,269 trained in health and safety, such as CPR and water safety.
• 2,296 people trained in emergency preparedness skills.
• over 300 military families and service members assisted at no cost.
• 82 families assisted in rebuilding lives after an emergency.

Your local Red Cross also provides:

• Service to members of the Armed Forces and their families at no cost to them
• Certified Nurse Assistant Training
• Health and Safety Classes, such as CPR and First Aid
• Vamos a Nadar, a bilingual water safety and swim program at no cost to participants.

Like all Red Cross chapters, our Chapter is self-sustaining and receives no funding for local disasters from the national organization and minimal funding from government agencies. Our Chapter receives no support from the United Way.
