Red Cross Response to Haiti Disaster: we're helping right now, and will be helping in the long-term relief
View slide show by clicking image above.
American Red Cross is working hard to provide relief to the devastated people of Haiti. Working with the Haitian Red Cross, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and partner organizations, we are providing supplies of food, water, and other necessities of life. We are saving thousands of lives, thanks to your generous support.
Our response and development work in Haiti will be going on for a long time. Their needs are immense. Please help as generously as you can.
This site will be updated regularly so please check back for more news. Also visit www.redcross.org for the latest information from national Red Cross.

Volunteers
Red Cross volunteers undergo specialized training to let them safely and efficiently provide relief services locally, nationally and internationally. If you would like to volunteer for future disasters, please contact Joyce Adams at (707) 577-7603. We are not currently deploying volunteers from this chapter to Haiti.
The first step to becoming a Red Cross volunteer is to take our class, "Fulfilling Our Mission." Our course catalog (go to page 13) shows the next available class and how to register.
Donations of Goods (In-Kind Donations)
If your corporation has a large donation of supplies, please contact Emily Buller (ebuller[at]arcsm.org or 707-577-7627).
We appreciate, but are not able to accept, goods such as blankets or food from individuals. The cost to ship such items, as well as the logistics required to organize and store such items, make such donations impractical. Whenever possible, we use financial donations to purchase necessary goods and equipment from the area that suffered the disaster. In that way, the financial donation also helps rebuild the local economy.
A wonderful way to help the disaster response, if you have goods you no longer need, is to have a garage sale, and donate the proceeds to the Red Cross.
