Health and Safety Class Guidelines and Information
Health Precautions
Participation in classes should be postponed if you are suffering from or have been exposed to any infection of a temporary nature (cold, flu, sore throat, communicable disease), or if you have any cuts or sores (including recent tooth extractions). If you have diseases or conditions which might affect you or others during training, you may request a separate mannequin on which to train. If you have a physical condition that may cause problems during training, please consult your physician and inform the instructor before the class begins.
Breaks/Food/Drinks/Snacks
Breaks are up to the discretion of the instructor. Day-long classes include a 30-minute lunch break.
Cancellations/Transfers
Fees are not refundable. Participants are allowed one transfer to another class at no additional charge. There is a $15.00 fee for each additional transfer. If a class is canceled, the participant will be notified at least two days prior to the start of the class and be given the option of rescheduling or receiving a refund. |
|
Physical Effort
Some of our classes require physical effort including kneeling and moving on the floor. Participants must be able to perform required skills satis-factorily to receive certification. Certain accomodations may be made for persons with disabilities.
Certification/Grades/CEUs
Students receive certification upon successfully completing course requirements. There is an $8.00 fee to replace lost certificates (except for Health & Safety Unit and ServSafe courses at $15.00 each). Continuing Education Units are available for CNAs, EMTs, LVNs, RNs and Paramedics for certain courses at $8.00 per unit.
Clothing
Wear comfortable clothing. Please do not wear jewelry or hairstyles that may interfere while practicing on the mannequins. Avoid gum, lipstick, perfume, etc. which may damage the mannequins. Please note that the chapter is a fragrance-free environment. |
